KYC / AML Policy

Knowledge process and business validation. Kribatta applies Know Your Customer (KYC), Know Your Business (KYB) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) controls in line with the regulations of the Republic of Costa Rica and international standards.

Our Commitment

LWG Trust Services Limited Liability Company, operating under the commercial name KRIBATTA, is committed to preventing money laundering, terrorist financing and fraud. Every account and business relationship is subject to identity verification, due diligence and continuous monitoring before and during the use of our Services.

Knowledge Process and Business Validation

Before a business relationship is established, corporate clients must complete our knowledge and validation process. This allows us to verify the legitimacy of the business, its ownership structure and the source of its funds.

  • Resolution of the Board of Directors to open a Kribatta account
  • Corporate information form
  • Source of funds questionnaire
  • Beneficial ownership schedule
  • Declaration of the directorship
  • Letter of authorization — authorized trading by a third party (if applicable)

Corporate KYC / KYB Requirements

A full KYC process is required for corporates and for every individual who owns more than 25% of the shares of the business. The following documentation must be provided:

  • Full KYC process for corporates owning +25% of the shares of the business
  • Shareholders or directors with +10% of the business (ID and utility bill copy)
  • Utility bill copy
  • Articles of incorporation
  • Certificate of good standing (incorporation)

Individual Identity Verification (KYC)

For individual accounts, the User must provide accurate, truthful and current personal information. We verify the User's identity through mechanisms, methods and authentication factors that comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, provided directly by Kribatta or through an authorized third party. Verification may include identity documents, proof of address, and biometric checks (photo, video, facial scan data).

Ongoing Monitoring

Kribatta conducts continuous screening of transactions against international anti-money-laundering and sanctions lists. We may request additional information or documentation at any time, consult risk centers and public institution databases, and suspend or close accounts where information cannot be confirmed or where suspicious or unusual activity is detected.

Source of Funds

Users declare under oath that the funds, assets and securities used in past or future transactions are of lawful origin and have no relationship with money, capital, goods, securities or assets resulting from illicit activities. Kribatta may require documentation evidencing the source of funds as part of its due diligence procedures.

Regulatory Framework

All KYC and AML controls are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica, where LWG Trust Services is registered (company number 3-102-812820), as well as applicable international standards for the prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing.
